19th Annual Bark in the Park at Fort Toulouse in Wetumpka
Much like last year, our Bark in the Park was another dry, hot day, but we still had lots of fun in the park with our dogs and friends! Look for a ton of photos on our Shelter Facebook page this week thanks to Pam, our most dedicated Photographer!
This was year 19 for Bark in the Park and, as always, Fort Toulouse was, again, perfect for our event! On behalf of our Board & Staff we so appreciate the great turnout and all these great partner exhibitors: Venice Gelato, Crepe Magic, Harper & Co Coffee, Blonde & Bubbly, Buffalo Rock, Better Life Veterinary, Camp Bow Wow Montgomery, Sunshine & Pixie Dust, Brittni Smith Artistry, Max Credit Union, Crochet By Rae, Fofo's Pet Care, For Healthy Pets, Montgomery Alabama Dog Obedience Club, River Region Aromas, TCH Designs, Vitality Wellness Apothocary Market, Creativity In Our Roots, Rock-N-Mutts Dog Treats,
Vanity Fur Pet Salon & Resort, Lanmac Realty, Inc, Plant & Frame, Toni Howard Wreaths,
Mimi's Designs By Leigh, Treat Your Dog Barkery, Gabby's Caricatures,
Barking Lot Groom Salon For Dogs, Kasseys Doggy Delights, Pet Partners, The Velvet Whisk,
All Fours Paws Thrive, By A Nose - K9 Nosework & Southern Monty Co.
Please also thank these incredible Sponsors, most who have helped sponsor Bark in the Park for many, many years: Blue Ridge Animal Clinic, CB&S Bank, Ark Animal Hospital, Coosa River Adventures, Gray's Tire & Svc Center, Collier Ford, Dennis Fain, Marla H. Wohlman MD,
Donate Volunteer Adopt, Ta Wear, HSELCO Secret Admirer, Dawg Gone Pretty Pet Salon,
Cousins Insurance Agency, For Healthy Pets, Jill & Harley Samuelson, Bryson Veterinary Clinic, Camellia Veterinary Hospital, Castaway Animal Clinic, Frazer Free Methodist, Champs Barbeque, Grier Services, Inc, Zap Pest Control, Bell Family Chiropractic, Montgomery Al Dog Obedience Club, Better Life Veterinary, The Vault Variety Shop, #Teamguppyhanson, Fur Baby University & PHOENIX the Wonder Dog!
Many thanks to our Staff, Board & Volunteers who had everything set up early, manned the gate, sales tables and our pet-related events. We had fantastic demos thanks to Sara Hardinger & Uma showing us about Disc Dog, Daphne & Summer Mellilo demonstrating Nosework & Obedience via By a Nose - Nosework & SumDog K9 Training & Ashton Wells & Uma from Five Freckle Canine showing how to do proper meetings with dogs. Dr. Andre’ Harrison kept everything on track as our Master of Ceremonies, conducting our Blessing of the Animals and announcing our Pet Parade & Pet Contests. We greatly appreciate Charlie Helton for providing the sound system and music. The Pet Parade was huge, pet contests just too much fun, five happy raffle winners left with their prize baskets and just a great day seeing so many loved dogs with their owners!
Special thanks to Dr. Gloria Dorsey, DVM, students & staff from the Tuskegee University, College of Veterinary Medicine who were there for our Microchip Clinic. With their help, the chance that those microchipped dogs will be reunited with their owners if ever lost was greatly enhanced.
We have a few of our sky blue “Embrace the Chaos” 2025 Bark in the Park T-Shirts left and you can purchase them at our Shelter office or Tail's End Thrift Store for $15!
And finally, our sincere thanks to all who attended and let us spend time with your beloved dogs. It was a great turnout and so much fun meeting oh so many loved and cherished dogs, and even a cat and a lamb as well! Look for another great year in 2026 for year 20!
