HSEC BASIC NEEDS
ITEMS WE ARE ALWAYS IN NEED OF
We always need MONEY so we can purchase much needed supplies (if they are not donated), effect repairs and help animals in need!! You can contribute via PayPal, telephone credit charge, by mail or just come on into the shelter to drop it off and it truly helps. But the below donated items help us save our money so that it can be used directly for our animals for everything from vaccinations to surgeries for injured pets. We greatly appreciate any and all donated items.
** And don’t forget we take most anything at our Tails End Thrift Store – clothing, furniture, bric-a-brac, appliances, linens, art, books, collectibles, etc. All donations to our Thrift Store & Shelter are tax-deductible too!
Generic brands are fine and greatly appreciated.

- Dry Dog Food (Adult & Puppy) – any brand is accepted but a good price point food our dogs all eat well is PEDIGREE.
- Canned Dog/Cat Food
- Non-Clumping Cat Litter (cheap, clay litter best as we discard daily & it is cheaper)
- Liquid Dishwashing Soap
- Laundry Detergent
- Plastic Trash Bags - 30 Gal & 45-55 Gal
- Paper Towels
- Toilet Paper (yes, for us humans)
- Liquid Bleach (generic is fine) – (but NOT “No Splash or Low Splash Bleach” as it does not disinfect since has lower sodium hypochlorite concentration)
- Fabuloso Liquid Detergent
- Vienna Sausages - really helps when giving pills to dogs
- Old Towels/Blankets
- Peanut Butter – also for giving meds and heartworm prevention to our dogs
- Spray Nozzles for hoses
- Heavy-Duty Garden Hoses-50’ & >; ‘for hot water use’ best
- First class postage stamps
- LONG Shredded Paper - ONLY the ‘long’ shreds as the cross-cut shreds are like confetti and create quite a mess.

GRAVEL - We are in need of a few loads of gravel for our parking lot

WASHING MACHINES & DRYERS – HEAVY DUTY, SIMPLE, PLAIN WASHERS & DRYERS. We are in desperate need of a couple of washing machines and dryers! We are washing & drying bedding and towels literally eight hours/day and the work load finally did some of our machines in. So if you are perhaps upgrading we would love your older, working washer or dryer. If we need to coordinate a pickup please just call us at 567-3377 or email hselco@bellsouth.net.
STANDARD OR LARGE SIZE REFRIGERATOR
KURANDA DOG BEDS- Kuranda Fundraising Program has created another tool to help HSEC acquire beds for our facility. HSEC will receive 10% of the Kuranda sales generated from visitors when using the link above.
PASSENGER VAN - good mechanical condition, working air-conditioner, automatic transmission. Will be used to transport our animals to adoption locations and pick up supplies.
